These Video Games Deserve Current-Gen Remakes

We’ve seen a plethora of video game companies take their old properties and revamp it for the modern age. While some may not hit the mark, others have been home runs and we’re counting down the minutes for the official announcements of these games to get their own spotlight soon — again. Here’s our full list of video games that deserve a current-gen remake.

Chrono Trigger

This classic was given ports to the PlayStation, Nintendo DS, mobile phones, and Windows — but maybe it’s time we give this game a full-blown reimagining a la Final Fantasy VII Remake? Square Enix hasn’t given this property the love it truly deserved since its oft-forgotten sequel, Chrono Cross, dropped back in 1999. Whatever happens, get Akira Toriyama back pronto-although that should go without saying.

Super Mario Land

This GameBoy classic (and let’s not forget its sequel, Land 2: Golden Coins) may have been pretty short compared to other Mario entries, but all the more reason to include it as some sort of little Nintendo Switch e-Shop goodie. Not that it would ever happen, but we can at least dream of the day. Just imagining these…
